Your First Fitness Photoshoot
Never done this before? Most of my clients haven't. Private studio, full direction, and a free Prep Guide so you know exactly what to expect.
This Is for You If...
You don't need to be a fitness model. You don't need competition experience. You don't even need to have been in front of a camera before. A large proportion of clients who walk into the studio are doing this for the very first time, and most of them felt exactly the way you're feeling right now.
This page is for you if:
- You've been training hard and you want to capture what you've built
- You've never had a professional photoshoot and you're not sure what to expect
- You're worried about posing, what to wear, or whether you're "ready"
- You've seen other people's results and thought "I want that, but I'm not sure it's for me"
- You want something to mark the work you've put in - a milestone, not just another gym selfie
- You've been thinking about it for months but haven't pulled the trigger
If any of that sounds familiar, you're in the right place. This is exactly who the studio was built for.

What Actually Happens on the Day
The unknown is always the scariest part. So here's the whole thing, step by step. No surprises.
You arrive at the studio. It's a private, purpose-built gym studio in Nottingham - professional lighting, mirrors, free weights, machines, benches. It's a real gym, not a white-wall photography studio. When you walk in, it's just you and Christopher. No audience. No one watching.
You have a quick chat. Christopher will ask what you want from the session - the look you're going for, any specific images you have in mind, what you're planning to use the photos for. This takes five minutes and it sets the tone for everything that follows.
Christopher directs every single shot. Where to stand. How to position your hands. Where to look. How to angle your body. You don't need to know any of this. Christopher has been doing it for 18 years - he's shot at 7 Mr Olympias, 7 Arnold Classics, and appeared in Muscle and Fitness, FLEX, Men's Health, and Men's Fitness. He knows exactly how to make you look your best, and he'll tell you exactly what to do.
Unlimited outfit changes. Bring as many outfits as you like. There are private changing rooms with shower facilities. Christopher will advise on what works best on camera.
The atmosphere is relaxed, professional, and supportive. There's no pressure to perform. No awkward silences. Most clients say they felt comfortable within the first few minutes. By halfway through, most people are genuinely enjoying it.
Your only job is to show up ready. That's it. Christopher handles the rest.
Your full edited gallery is delivered within 48 hours. High-resolution files, ready for print and social media.

You Don't Need to Be a Model
This is the thing most first-timers get wrong. They assume fitness photography is only for competition bodybuilders, fitness influencers, or people with six-packs and sponsorship deals. It's not.
The studio shoots everyday people. Transformation clients who've lost five stone and want to document the result. Personal trainers building their brand. Couples who train together. People in their twenties. People in their fifties. People who've just finished their first 12-week programme and want something to show for it.
You don't need a six-pack. You don't need to be stage-lean. You don't need to look a certain way.
You don't need to know how to pose, either. That's Christopher's job, and he's spent 18 years perfecting it. He's photographed thousands of first-timers. He knows how to find your best angles, what lighting works for your physique, and how to make you feel at ease in front of the camera.
When you book, you'll receive a free Photoshoot Prep Guide that covers everything - nutrition timing, outfit choices, skin preparation, what to expect on the day. It removes the guesswork entirely, so you can walk in feeling prepared and confident.
This isn't an exclusive club. If you've put the work in, you belong here.

Questions First-Timers Always Ask
I've never had a professional photoshoot. Will I know what to do?
Yes, because you don't have to. Christopher directs every single shot - where to stand, how to position your body, where to look. He's been doing this for 18 years and has photographed thousands of first-timers. Most clients say they felt comfortable within the first few minutes. Your only job is to show up.
What should I wear?
Bring 3-5 outfits. Gym wear, casual, smart - whatever suits the look you're going for. Christopher will advise on the day based on what works best on camera. The free Photoshoot Prep Guide you receive on booking has detailed outfit guidance for different body types and styles.
How fit do I need to be?
There's no minimum. The studio photographs people at every stage of their fitness journey - from someone who's just finished their first training programme to IFBB Pros in competition shape. If you've been putting the work in, that's enough. You don't need a six-pack. You don't need to be stage-lean. You just need to have something you're proud of.
Can I bring someone with me for support?
Absolutely. Bring a friend, partner, or coach. The studio is completely private, so it's just you, whoever you bring, and Christopher. Some people find it helps to have someone there for the first few minutes. Others prefer to come alone. Either is fine.
What if I don't like my photos?
In 18 years, this hasn't been a problem. Christopher's direction, lighting, and editing are designed to make you look your best. You'll see your gallery within 48 hours and choose the images you want. But honestly, the most common reaction from first-timers is "I can't believe that's me."
Is this just for bodybuilders and fitness models?
Not at all. A large proportion of clients are everyday people - not competitors, not influencers, just people who've worked hard and want to capture the result. The studio welcomes everyone, regardless of body type, fitness level, or experience. If you've put the work in, this is for you.
