Post-Competition Photoshoot
Your competition condition has a 24 to 72-hour shelf life. A studio session captures what the stage photos missed, before the window closes.
Your Condition Has a Shelf Life
The physique you bring to the competition stage is the product of months of precise nutrition, progressive training, and careful peaking. Peak week alone requires daily decisions about water, sodium, carbohydrates, and training volume. You dial in every variable to arrive at your best on show day.
And then it starts to change.
Within 24 to 72 hours of your competition, your condition shifts. Water balance normalises, glycogen stores refill, and the razor-sharp separation you worked for begins to soften. This isn't a failing. It's physiology. Peak condition is, by definition, temporary.
The question is whether you capture it properly before it passes.
Stage photos give you a record of the event, but they don't give you a record of your physique at its best. Flat lighting, fixed angles, shared backdrops. The conditions are designed for judging, not photography. A studio session in the days after your show captures your conditioning under lighting that was designed to reveal every detail you spent months building.

Studio vs Stage: Why the Difference Matters
On stage, the lighting is overhead and flat. It's designed to illuminate a lineup evenly, not to sculpt individual physiques. The photographer is shooting from a fixed position at the front of the stage, often capturing multiple athletes in the same frame. You get a fraction of a second per shot, and the result is a set of images that flatten your physique and miss most of the conditioning detail.
In a purpose-built studio, everything changes. The lighting is set up for your physique specifically. Hard light to carve out separation and striations. Soft light to shape muscle bellies and add dimension. Side lighting for depth. Every angle chosen to make your conditioning look its absolute best.
Christopher Bailey has spent 18 years photographing physique athletes in this studio. He's covered 7 Mr Olympias, 7 Arnold Classics, and shot for Muscle and Fitness, FLEX, and Men's Health. He knows how to read a physique and light it accordingly. The session is fully directed. You don't need to know how to pose for a camera. That's his job.
The studio is completely private. Just you and Christopher. Fully equipped gym, climate controlled, free parking.

How to Book Around Your Competition
The best approach is to book your studio session at the same time as you enter your competition. This guarantees your post-show slot before availability fills.
Saturday show? Book Sunday or Monday. Most UK competitions run on Saturdays. The optimal studio window is the following day or the day after. Your conditioning is still sharp, you've had a post-show meal, and you're rested enough to perform in front of the camera.
Multiple shows in a season? Book a session after your final show of the season when your condition peaks highest. Or book after each show to document your progression across the season.
Travelling from another city? The studio is in Nottingham with direct train links from London (1 hour 45 minutes), Sheffield (50 minutes), Derby (20 minutes), Leicester (30 minutes), and Birmingham (1 hour 15 minutes). Free parking on site for drivers.
This applies to competitors from every federation: PCA, UKBFF, NABBA, 2Bros Pro, BNBF, and every other organisation running shows in the UK. The post-show window is universal.

Don't Let This Window Close
Every season, competitors look back and wish they'd booked a proper photoshoot when they were in their best shape. They have stage shots and backstage selfies, but nothing that truly captures what they built.
You won't be in this condition again for months. Possibly longer. The work is done. The physique is here. The only question is whether you document it properly before it changes.
